This 2 bedroom, beautifully restored Languedoc house rental can accommodate up to 4 guests plus an infant. The property is situated in the pretty village of Alaigne in the Languedoc Roussillon region of France. It makes the ideal base from which to explore this historic region of France.

The accommodation of L'ancienne comprises of, on the ground floor, a spacious open plan area with a comfortable sitting area that has a dvd player and a library of cd's and books - not only novels but books relating to local history. High speed internet access is provided free of charge. The dining area has a large table which can seat six and separates the sitting area from the well equipped kitchen that includes a fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, fan oven and induction hob. The ground floor of L'ancienne has underfloor heating, perfect for winter lets.

A bespoke staircase leads upstairs to two bedrooms and a bathroom, all of which feature original oak beams. The main bedroom has a double bed, vintage dressing table and armoire as well as a chaise longue. The second bedroom has a single sleigh bed, wardrobe and dressing table. Both bedrooms are equipped with a hairdryer and radiators for the cooler months. The modern bathroom features black and white decor and has a walk in style shower. The kitchen door gives access onto a private courtyard with a BBQ and patio furniture.

Situated in the picturesque village of Alaigne and within easy reach of a number of international airports, this tastefully decorated and furnished house make the ideal base to explore the local Aude countryside. The village is host to a bakery, post office, weekly meat and fish van, children's play area, cafe/bar and local vigneron from whom it is possible to sample, then purchase, the local wines.
